Small
town “Island” feel…Dancing with the Island
Stars!

We recently attended a benefit event at the Sanibel Community
House in Sanibel Island, FL that was just spectacular. Our
friends the Zurbriggens (of Zurbriggen
Financial )
were involved with the production. Rick was a dance judge
and Evette was the mistress of ceremonies! They looked spectacular – unfortunately
we didn’t get any pictures of Evette in her sparkling
expensive gown. But below are a few pictures of Ross and
I, along with my dad and Ross’ parents at the event.
What a great idea for a fund raiser, eh? Six “local
celebrities” teamed up with professional dancers from
Fred Astaire Dance Studio and trained/performed for a sell-out
crowd. All proceeds went to the SCH.
We love this about Sanibel – you
get the small town feel with lots of action! We were so happy
to become involved in the town by helping to support the Sanibel
Community House where many events take place, including the
longest running annual shell fair in the world which is coming
up the first week of March 2010! The weekly classes offered
include bridge, yoga, ballroom dance, and shellcrafting. For
more information about the Sanibel Community House, check out
their website at http://www.sanibelcommunityhouse.net/.

Places like the Community House are made for people – people
like us – and YOU! Check out your local community centers,
senior centers, park districts, public libraries, and the like.
They have so much to offer to the residents of the community.
It’s great to get together with new people new things,
be active, and stimulate your brain. Don’t just sit around
in your house – get out there! It’s good for you! |
