5 Super Foods for Fast Feet

As athletes, our bodies are under different stresses than the average person. Feeding your body regularly with super foods to provide optimal fuel for your workouts and races is a key to making you a better athlete.

Did you ever wonder why you read your latest Runner’s World issue and it tells you that oatmeal and yogurt are the best foods for athletes; then you pick up a copy of Triathlete Magazine and you find out that you should be eating meat and fish. If you Google “foods that give you energy,” you’ll get an entirely different list!

Why?

The answer lies within the Hauser Diet

In other words, there is no one perfect diet for every athlete. Each person is as individual on the inside as we are on the outside. We do not all have the same genetic make-up. Therefore it only makes sense that we all need to eat differently, according to our Diet Types!

Diet Type, you say? Yes, that’s right! We have developed a unique testing protocol in our office to determine what type of diet (1 of 5 Hauser Diets) is best for each individual person. Your blood will be tested to determine the appropriate diet for you. This is not about taking a quiz or assessing your personality or anything like that. It is a scientifically sound method of determining how you should eat. See www.hauserdiet.com for more information on the testing procedure itself.

The Hauser Diet for Athletes

There are five Hauser Diets, named after animals whose diets closely represent the breakdown of macronutrients in each of these diets—the Hauser Lion, Otter, Bear, Monkey, and Giraffe.

Let’s take a look at 5 Fast Foods for each of these Hauser Diet Types:

5 Super Foods for Fast Feet For Each Hauser Diet

Hauser Lions: This diet consists primarily of protein and fat because the physiology of the Lion Diet Type is a person with an acidic blood pH and a fast oxidative rate. These foods will make the Lion faster. Feeding the proper fuel means improving fitness and speed.

The Lion’s Top 5 Super Foods are:
1. Meat, including beef, pork, or mb
2. Nut Butters, such as peanut, almond, or cashew butter.
3. Eggs, all kinds
4. Nuts, such as walnuts, almonds, and cashews.
5. Oils such as olive, coconut, or grapeseed

Hauser Otters: This diet is similar to the Lion Diet, but allows for some complex carbohydrates. Most Otters also have a fast oxidative rate, but may have a normal blood pH or be only slightly acidic.

The Otters’ Top 5 Super Foods are:
1. Meat, including beef, pork, or lamb
2. Nut Butters on whole grain breads
3. Eggs, all kinds
4. Nuts, such as almonds, cashews, and walnuts
5. Vegetables such as broccoli, peppers, and peapods

Hauser Bears: This diet is the most balanced diet of the five Hauser Diets and allows for a mix of carbohydrates, protein, and fat.

The Bears’ Top 5 Super Foods are:
1. Whole grains such as 5 grain bread or English Muffins, whole wheat pasta or rice.
2. Vegetables such as carrots, celery, peapods, or broccoli
3. Meats, such as chicken, turkey, or lean beef
4. Berries, such as blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries
5. Soy milk

Hauser Monkeys: This diet is lower in fat and protein and higher in carbohydrates because this type of person tends toward having balanced oxidative rates, but alkaline blood pH levels.

The Monkeys’ Top 5 Super Foods are:
1. Vegetables such as carrots, peppers, peapods, celery, Brussels sprouts, and sweet potatoes.
2. Soy products, such as soy milk, tofu, and soy nuts
3. Whole grains, such as 5 grain breads, oatmeal, and English muffins
4. Fish, such as salmon, tilapia, and grouper.
5. Fruits, such as berries, melons, and plums.

Hauser Giraffes: This diet is the lowest in fat and protein and highest in carbohydrates because this type of person tends toward having slow oxidative rates, with alkaline blood pH levels. This diet is basically Vegan.

The Giraffes’ Top 5 Super Foods are:
1. Vegetables such as carrots, peppers, peapods, celery, Brussels Sprouts, and sweet potatoes.
2. Dark green veggie salads using romaine, spinach, or arugula lettuces
3. Soy products, such as soy milk, tofu, and soy nuts
4. Whole grains, such as 5 grain breads, oatmeal, and English muffins
5. Fruits, such as berries, melons, and plums.

** We recommend purchasing organic meats, nuts, nut butters, eggs, milk, and produce when ever possible due to the reduced chemical and hormone load.

So there you have it! As you can see, everyone does not have the same 5 super foods! If you don’t know your Diet Type, you should! Then you’ll know what foods will be best to optimize your performance! Come on in!
