| Sienna/Florence: We were able to spend a couple more days in Sienna and Florence
after the cycling tour was completed. Here are some photos of
a delicious meal we shared in Sienna, right off the piazza in
an outdoor café right on the piazza. |
| Pasta
is always served “al dente” and is not rinsed
with water after cooking. Pomodoro sauce is made with fresh
cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, garlic, olive oil, and some
parmeseano-reggiano cheese. Simple, delicious, Italian. |
| We stayed in an
old farmhouse built in the 1400’s that was still a working
farm that made olive oil, wine, and honey. It was amazing to
see the grapes and olives trees all around the property. What
a magnificent site! |
| Keep
exercising…even
while on vacation…Here the four of us decided to do
our morning run through the vineyard enroute to a castle at
the end of the property. Nicole and I stop to admire the Sangiovese
grapes! Ross and Travis stop to admire the view. |
